Exploring our new city

This past weekend we only had one house to view so we took advantage of the free time and checked out some of the attractions that Houston has to offer.
On Saturday, we were going to visit the Museum of Natural Science, but it was such a beautiful day that we decided to just hang out at Hermann park. The park is located in the museum district along with the Houston zoo. The park has a lot of walking paths, paddle boats, a train for kids, and a ton of picnic tables and places to relax. We people watched and just hung out for the afternoon and are looking forward to going back again!
On Sunday we headed to Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros, located right in downtown Houston. The ballpark is really nice and is in a great location surrounded by lots of cute restaurants and fun bars. We'll have to go back "Joseph free" to take advantage of them! The Padres were in town and we were proud to represent San Diego! It was another beautiful day and we had such a fun time. The highlight of the game was seeing George and Barbara Bush on the big screen (I heard they have season tickets) and during the 7th inning stretch they sing, "Deep in the Heart of Texas" along with "Take Me out to the Ballgame." Texans definitely have a lot of pride in the state and it was fun to sing along with them...we'll have to learn the words! Although we were dressed in Padres gear, we were kind of on the fence as to who to cheer for (neither of us are up to date on either team), but the Padres won, so I guess we will say we were rooting for them!
